It looks like fitbit is making some changes to its platform, removing some of its community driven features in an attempt to move forward with its plan to streamline.

A google account will be required for “some uses” of fitbit devices and features from 2023, with plans to have all existing fitbit accounts migrated to google accounts by 2025.
So Far, We Have Yet To See New Features, But The Company Has Shared Its Plans That Will Have Its Users Transition To Google Accounts In Order To Access Fitbit Apps.
